THE MOST ADVANCED MATH CURRICULUM FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Elements of Mathematics: Foundation (EMF) is a series of math courses delivered online and especially designed for talented middle school students in the age group of 10-14 years. Unlike most other math text books that are based on definitions and formulae or after-school math programs that focus on speed and practice, EMF teaches math in a manner that develops higher-level thinking skills and enables students to apply these skills while solving real-life problems.

The objective of MyPal is to encourage critical-thinking and enhance problem-solving abilities among the children through EMF courses online. In order to captivate the child's attention and make him/her fall in love with math, the modules are designed to be fun, interactive and engaging while maintaining a level of mathematical rigor found only at the university level. The courses are self-paced making it possible for kids to learn at their own pace and comfort.

  • EMF enables students to finish all of high school math curriculum except calculus while still in middle school, hence giving them a definite competitive edge (nay, an unfair advantage) over their peers.
  • The EMF curriculum was developed out of the Mathematics Education for Gifted Secondary School Students (MEGSSS) program supported by Department of Education, USA.
  • EMF competes with the mathematics courses taught at John Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth (CTY) and Stanford University's Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY).
  • Many of the students who took EMF courses in their school years went on to attend top Universities like MIT, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, etc. and they credit EMF for imbibing excellent critical thinking skills in them.
